Odd group. This is all Dorothy's fault.

Dorothy Cavanaugh was one of those rich "Society people", living high on the hog, courtesy of her husband's money, and looking down on the "little people", until the IRS caught up with her husband. Seems the old boy had amassed his wealth through various elaborate Ponzi schemes and other fraudulent methods. Naughty, naughty man. Anyway, he ended up in jail, the IRS confiscated his money, and Dorothy threw a fit and divorced him in a huff. Then the IRS kicked her out of her mansion, the courts granted her very little money, and she had to start all over from the bottom. Her solution? She moved to Atol dos Sims (society people love living on islands, y'know), bought a house that was too big for her and barely within her much-reduced price range, and decided to make a name for herself and rebuild her fortune by going into the wine business. All things considered, it wasn't too bad of an idea.

And then the property tax bills came and wiped her out. Island taxes tend to be high. Oops.

Realizing that she desperately needed a source of income while she tried to get her wine business off the ground, Dorothy got the bright idea to take in boarders and charge them rent. Since the next bills were going to be arriving soon, she decided not to be fussy about who she rented to. So she placed an ad online and waited to see who showed up.

First to arrive was Andres Salas, a Chilean with a passion for archeology and adventure. Brave, friendly, and ruggedly handsome, Dorothy was happy to welcome him to her home. As it turned out, he was the most normal of all her tenants.

Next came Dwight Remick. Brilliant and good with a wrench, fascinated by all things mechanical. A man who knows tools is a boon to any house, so Dorothy welcomed him as well. She later found out he was insane when he got into an argument with the mailbox and dressed in formal dinnerware before going to bed.

Christina Marquis and her two kids were the next arrivals. Christina was a neurotic drama queen and former B-movie actress, best known for her starring role in The Beach Creature Annoys Sandra Dee and for her occasional wild parties, two of which later resulted in her children. Her daughter, Michelle, was a shy girl but very talented in both writing and painting. Her son Liam, on the other hand, was a mess; he tripped over everything, dropped stuff a lot, and was the favorite punching bag of every bully at school. At least he knew how to cook. All three got rooms.

Former President Richard Nixon arrived shortly after the Marquis. Having faked his own death and fled the mainland, he had vowed never to get involved in politics again. Still ambitious, he was now determined to climb the corporate ladder and become the CEO of a megacorporation. Oh, and to spend his free time fishing. Ex-Presidents make a prestigious addition to one's house, so Dorothy happily let him in.

Finally, there was Damien Wallace. He had money, Dorothy had one more room. End of story. Too bad she didn't know that he was a thief, a meanie, and a pyromaniac. Well, he'll liven things up, no doubt.

So these eight diverse Sims are all now living under one roof. Will they get along? Will they prosper? Will they end up fighting and hating each other? Will they give the Simmaster a headache? Only one way to know so please excuse me while I go play the game and find out.
